Anzac veteran proud to bridge divide between older military servicepeople and youth

A WA Anzac veteran has encouraged the connection between Australia’s servicemen and women with the younger generation, calling it “wonderful” to be back for the Anzac Day march.

The man, who was giving high-fives to spectators while he was being pushed in a wheelchair down St Georges Terrace during the parade, said he bridged the gap between the older generation of people who were in involved in conflict and the nation’s youth.

“I’m very, very proud to be the connection between those that served Australia with honour and courage and those that are coming along for the future to do the same,” he said.

It is the second straight Anzac march that WAMN News has spotted the man giving high fives to spectators, in particular children.
