WA Premier Mark McGowan announced the delay of Phase 5 restrictions, warning the real risks of Covid-19 virus returning to the state.
This means that the Phase 5 will not be implemented until the 1st, August, 2020. The Chief Health Officer Andrew Robertson says “the health of Western Australians is his number one concern.”
He admit that the move may not be a popular but the decision is needed for public health.
Dr Robertson says the community has become complacent in Western Australia, urging the public to continue physical distancing and personal hygiene.
The Federal Cabinet has agreement with the cap of 525 arrivals per week, 75 international arrivals per day. It will be begin this Sunday and will last for four weeks.
All international arrivals will be required to pay for their hotel quarantine from 17th, July, 2020.
The McGowan Government says 4995 people arrived in Perth in the last 10 days, most of them are from Melbourne and Sydney.
Meanwhile, the WA Health Minister Roger Cook says there are 3 cases today, with all of them under hotel quarantine.
