Detectives hunt shooter after Landsdale home targeted for second time

WA Police are investigating a second shooting in Landsdale that targeted a home in the suburb.

Police said the shooting happened at about 4:30am on Dorneywood Way on Wednesday morning, when the rider of a motorcycle discharged a .22 calibre firearm firing “roughly seven to 13 shots”, hitting the back of a vehicle.

The motorcycle was last seen turning right onto Heathfield Drive towards Mirrabooka Avenue.

Detective First Class Sam Busby said it was not the first time the house was targeted.

“This was actually the second time the house has been targeted,” Detective Busby said.

“14th of November this year, so it was just a couple of weeks ago, a similar incident where different firearm was used, the occupants of the vehicle were also targeted.”

However, WA Police could not say if the shootings were linked.

“Apart from this the second time this has happened at the same house, I can’t confirm those incidents as directly linked,” Detective Busby said.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage, but cannot confirm the identity of the number of shooters involved in the attack.

However, the motorcycle has been identified as a Kawasaki motorcycle with a large rear tyre.

The occupants of the home are currently assisting police with inquiries.

“We definitely take it very seriously, utilising a lot of resources investigating this incident, especially considering this is the second time this has happened,” Detective Busby said.

Joondalup Detectives are calling for public help for any information, CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at around the time of the incident.
