Rebels president charged over alleged extortion

WA Police have arrested the State President of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang over alleged extortion in the Perth Metropolitan area.

Gang Crime Squad officers executed search warrants on Wednesday morning, arresting 50-year-old Nick Martin along with his 46-year-old wife.

They have been charged with two counts of demanding property by oral threats and one count of bringing into or receiving, possessing, concealing, disposing while in WA any money or property.

Detectives have also charged a 56-year-old man from Nollamara with demanding property by threats.

They have been refused bail and are due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.

The investigation is ongoing.

WA Police would like to hear from anyone who runs a business in particular tattoo shops who has received or is receiving threats to pay protection money to members or associates of Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
