It’s that time of the year again! The annual sculpture by the sea exhibition is underway at Cottesloe Beach, with plenty of artistic displays to inspire the public’s imagination.
Overall, there were 73 sculptures in the exhibition, created by 77 artists from 18 countries.
The exhibition will continue until the 19th, March, 2018, a total of 5 awards were given out to artists by the organiser to recognise their achievements.
We get to meet some of the artists who’ve participated in the exhibition, who’ve generously spend their time with us to explain what their art is about.
“It’s called ‘The Stories We Lived By’ and it’s about personal stories. People writing their personal stories from places that are uncertain and aren’t necessary safe, but they stories that link us all together,” ‘The Stories We Lived By’ artist – Olga Cironis said.
“Wings are very symbolic, people can take many different meaning from wings. So for me, it’s about soaring, it could be travel, it could be about flying, it can be something a bit angelic. So it’s up to the viewer to take whatever they want from the Wings,” ‘Waiting In The Wings’ artist – Denise Pepper said.
