Two male youths have been charged after being involved in an armed hold up and an attempt to evade police in Kwinana yesterday evening.
Police allege just before 7pm, the two juveniles, a 16-year-old boy from Willagee and a 13-year-old boy from Wanneroo threatened a male delivery driver with a knife outside a pizza store at a marketplace on Chisham Avenue.
They stole his Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle.
Police sighted the vehicle at about 7:20pm travelling north on Gilmore Avenue in Kwinana, activating their emergency lights and sirens but the driver failed to stop.
It is alleged the vehicle was driven through several streets and stopped a short time later, when the driver made a sharp turn and collided with a police vehicle at the intersection of Pengilly Road and Langridge Crescent Orelia.
No one was injured in the crash.
The Willagee boy has been charged with aggravated armed robbery, driver failing to comply with a direction to stop, possessing a prohibited drug (Cannabis), possessing drug paraphernalia in or on which there was a prohibited drug or plant.
He was also charged with no authority to drive, reckless driving to escape police pursuit and stealing a motor vehicle.
The Wanneroo boy has also been charged with aggravated armed robbery and stealing a motor vehicle.
They are due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court today.
